AccuFind Internet Services uses many specialized tools in the attempt to control the amount of unsolicited email that our customers receive,
along with virus scanning. Literally tens of thousands of emails a day are scanned, cleaned and sometimes blocked to provide a safe and
reliable email service for our customers.
Many of our customers have contacted us with special needs in this area, where they have requested email to be allowed through or
blocked as the need requires; however actions such as this affect the entire AccuFind network and are usually not something that we can
provide, without affecting other customers.
AccuFind Internet Services has partnered with Barracuda networks and is now offering a solution to this problem. With the use of the
Barracuda appliance we can now allow customers to take charge of the mail that they allow or reject, through a easy to use web-based panel.
Is there a cost for the new service?
Although this service will incur an additional cost, it is minimal. As stated above, this was incorporated into our network to address
customers with special needs. The cost for the new service is:
- 10.00 per domain per month for up to 5 email addresses
- 25.00 per 3 domains per month for up to 30 email addresses
- And is included at no charge for all Dedicated Server Customers which are Silver or above, this also applies to multi-server customers.
How does it work?
We will setup the domain you are protecting in the anti-spam filtering server, and you will receive an email with a username
(your email address) and a password. The email will also have a link to the server, where you can override all global settings for
your account.
Typically spam is rated on a scale from 1 to 10 with the following actions taken:
- If the mail is rated at 3.5 or lower, it is passed through as legitimate email.
- If the mail is rated at 7.0 or higher, it is blocked.
- If the mail is rated between 3.5 and 7.0, it is considered possible spam and quarantined.
NOTE: If the email is allowed through the filter, but is still considered possible spam, it will be quarantined and you will be notified
daily from the server and be provided with a link to allow you to make the determination of whether this should be allowed through or not.
This gives you complete control and over a short period of time the anti-spam filtering server will learn your requirements. This also
applies to anti-virus and protects against spy ware.
All current filtering and virus blocking is still in affect on our public mail servers and will continue to remain in affect and
constantly managed.
Barracudas anti-spam appliance is known as one of the best products on the market. Their team monitors content being sent and received
from thousands of hosts and makes changes to rules through the day. So the service is constantly updated.
